Welcome to The campaign to scrap the Central6 Street Plans

The plans, which have been forced on small communities in Warrington and are causing chaos. Key Connecting Roads have been blocked using Covid Era LTN (Low Traffic Neighbourhood) laws.

WORKING TOGETHER- we got the Central6 street plans (Westy LTN) scrapped

Gainsborough Road plans alert

Following on from the disaster of the blocking of Grange Avenue we have another potential issue as Warrington Council propose creating 6 chicanes down Gainsbough Road. It will make travel down the road difficult for residents and the wider community (see photos below).

The Council have made a fair assessment of pros and Cons (see below). Our advice and experience says reject the chicanes and ask for pedestrian crossings, explore a 20mph limit and ban HGV.

The planters have gone!

On 19th June 2023 Warrington Council announced the road blocks imposed by its Westy LTN Central 6 street plans were to be lifted.

In June 2022 Warrington Council blocked roads without any mandate from the local community in Latchford/Westy. It has taken a year of arguing with them, a  year of traffic jams and increased pollution before the have listened. The planters have gone and our roads are reopened.

In their official statement the Council are still claiming it was a 'success' but their own facts point to the increased in pollution and traffic jams.
